At Riegle Events, I believe a wedding day should feel as seamless as it looks beautiful, every detail intentional, every moment truly yours. I founded Riegle Events after years spent as a Senior Event Designer at Purple Onion Catering, where I planned and executed weddings and celebrations at some of Washington DC's most storied venues, including the Smithsonian, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and DAR Constitution Hall. That experience taught me that beautiful design only matters if the logistics behind it are flawless, and it is the foundation my planning style is built on today. My path to events started long before catering, though. I grew up in Connecticut, planning annual cookie swaps, Halloween parties, and baking competitions with my mom. When I committed to rowing collegiately, my family relocated to Charlottesville, where I met an incredible wedding planner. I then spent weekends working as a bridal attendant at some of the area's premier wedding venues, learning the rhythm of a wedding day from the ground up. After earning my master's in education at UVA, I worked Monday through Friday as an elementary school teacher and weddings every weekend. My teaching background still shapes how I work with clients: with patience, clear communication, and a genuine investment in getting things right. Today, Riegle Events offers full service planning, partial planning, and event management for couples all around Virginia and DC. What sets my approach apart is logistics. Years in high end catering gave me a deep understanding of how a day actually runs: vendor timelines, venue quirks, staffing needs, and the dozens of small decisions that determine whether a wedding feels effortless or chaotic. I bring that knowledge to every couple I work with, so they can be fully present throughout their engagement and their wedding day while I manage the details behind the scenes. I am currently booking clients for 2027 and 2028, and I would love to be considered for your wedding. If you are looking for a planner who blends elegant design with real operational expertise, let's talk!
