Potter's Craft Cider

A blue checkmark inside a light blue star shape.

If you’re dreaming of a wedding that blends historic charm, mountain beauty, and locally crafted cider, Potter's Craft Cider offers a setting that feels both timeless and deeply personal. Tucked along a quiet mountainside just 15 minutes from downtown Charlottesville, Potter’s combines elegant architecture with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Founded in 2011, the cidery has long been dedicated to producing traditional dry cider from Virginia-grown apples. In 2019, Potter’s opened its Neve Hall tasting room, a remarkable stone building with nearly a century of history. Once a church and later a gathering place for artists and makers, the space carries a reverent, almost magical atmosphere. Inside its thick stone walls—formerly a chapel—guests often feel an immediate sense of place, as though the building itself has quietly witnessed decades of meaningful moments. That same spirit now makes Potter’s a memorable destination for weddings and celebrations. The venue offers a variety of indoor and outdoor settings for ceremonies, receptions, and gatherings. Couples can exchange vows beneath the vaulted ceilings of the former chapel, host cocktails and dinners throughout the historic tasting room, or celebrate outdoors across expansive terraced lawns surrounded by forested mountainsides. A favorite tradition for many couples is ringing the building’s original 1924 chapel bell after saying “I do,” a joyful moment that echoes across the property and signals the start of the celebration. Potter’s comfortably hosts up to 100 guests indoors, 120–150 for tented receptions and outdoor ceremonies, and up to 200 for welcome parties and rehearsal gatherings. At the heart of every event is Potter’s cider. Made with locally grown apples sourced from orchards across the Shenandoah Valley, each cider is crafted using traditional methods that highlight the fruit’s natural character. The result is crisp, dry cider with vibrant aroma and bright acidity—always zero sugar, vegan, and gluten-free. For weddings and private events, couples can share this distinctly Virginian craft with their guests through curated cider selections that reflect the region and the season. With its historic architecture, wooded mountain setting, and dedication to local craft, Potter’s offers a wedding experience that is both elevated and relaxed—an unforgettable place to gather, celebrate, and begin a new chapter.
