Rosie McDermott

I’ve been in the flower industry since I was a child. I grew up working with flowers right here in Charlottesville (my mom owned a flower shop!), then later worked as a floral designer in studios in Northern Virginia and Colorado. After a 15-year career in higher education fundraising and marketing, the art and beauty of floral design called me back. I have been the owner of Verde since 2020. When I’m not dreaming up wild and beautiful wedding florals, I find my joy and inspiration in gardening and adventuring outdoors in the mountains or on the water with my family. My favorite flower is the dahlia, I am a self-professed neat freak, I love crisp white wine paired with oysters, and I love a good book, preferably on a beach. Some of my most beloved places in the world are Hatteras Island, North Carolina; St John, USVI; the mountains of Colorado; and right here – Charlottesville, Virginia.
