About Me

I'm a full-time videographer & editor based just outside Harrisonburg, where I live in a farmhouse with my girlfriend Jenna (a winemaker at Bluestone), a dog, a cat, and some chickens. When I'm not filming, I'm usually doing something outside (hiking, kayaking, camping, gardening, snowboarding, golfing). I also love cooking — my mom is a chef, and out of her 4 kids I'm the biggest foodie. I spent my 20s traveling and bartending, and lived abroad in New Zealand & Australia, as well as Oahu. I'm always up for a destination wedding or an elopement (I've shot a few and have absolutely loved them). Professionally, I run Reel Deal Films, where I handle commercial work for corporate clients, musicians, festivals, conferences, small businesses, real estate, and drone projects. My long-term goal is to work more deeply in documentary and narrative film, while keeping 8-10 weddings a year. I'm really excited to be part of CWS and to connect more with all of you great vendors. I love finding ways to collaborate and using my video powers for good when it comes to my fellow vendors. I'm also in the process of rebranding and launching a dedicated wedding brand this spring — stay tuned. Shoutout to my guy Scott Woofter! We often second shoot for each other, and he's been a huge inspiration on the wedding side, although his wedding business daydreams tend to be the incoherent ramblings of a madman. First of all, I'm really proud to be a member of this community (CWS), which serves couples who care deeply about the people involved in their wedding day! I'm the owner and filmmaker behind Reel Deal Films, where my focus is always to create wedding films that feel natural, organic, honest, and alive. My approach is rooted in documentary storytelling. I genuinely love getting to know my couples, their families, and the dynamic of their friend group. That connection (hopefully) helps me blend in seamlessly and capture moments as they unfold, instead of manufacturing them. I'm always looking for cinematic composition and gorgeous lighting (of course) but I really don't believe in over-directing a wedding day. It should be a once-in-a-lifetime event with all of your favorite people. I'll gently guide you into a few intentional moments, but the heart of my work is always the in-between; walking from one place to another, a quiet moment with a grandparent, unfiltered joy on the dance floor. Every film is shot and edited by me. From the first frame to the last, I'm very hands-on in shaping a story that feels cohesive, emotionally resonant, and totally true to you. I take real pride in putting together films that I think will stand the test of time, because they're built on authenticity and genuine emotion (sometimes leaning into the funny or awkward, if I know you'll like it). My goal is that every time you rewatch your videos, whether it's the finished film, the ceremony, the toasts, or the dances, you'll notice a new detail hiding in the background or in the edit. My goal is to help you remember the day; not just how it looked, but how it really felt. Thanks for reading!
